The TOYOTA COROLLA AXIO is a derivative of the Corolla passenger car series, which has been manufactured and marketed exclusively to small car standards since 1966, and introduced after 2006 as a vehicle specifically designed for road and traffic conditions in Japan.

The 1.3-litre model is powered by a 1NR-FE inline four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve Dual VVT-i petrol engine co-developed with Daihatsu Motor Co, while the 1.5-litre model retains the 1NZ-FE inline four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve VVT-i petrol engine from the previous generation. Only the 1.5-litre front-wheel-drive model was available with a five-speed manual gearbox. The four-wheel drive system is Active Torque Control 4WD.

It is available with a 1.5-litre in-line four-cylinder 2NR-FKE engine and an EX with a 1NZ-FE engine.
